RAMALLAH, West Bank – A group of masked Israeli assailants attacked an area near the city of Qalqiya in the West Bank Palestinian Territory, setting fire to several vehicles and killing at least one person, according to multiple authorities.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said a group of Israelis living in the area opened fire on the village, killing one Palestinian and seriously injuring another.
The operation is the latest in a series of acts of banditry carried out by Israeli groups in the occupied West Bank.
Images of burned vehicles and homes were shared on social media following the attack.
The White House condemned attacks by Israeli groups against the Palestinian people and called for these attacks in the West Bank to be unacceptable and must stop.
The White House called on Israeli authorities to take steps to protect local communities from harm, including taking steps to stop these acts of violence and hold those responsible accountable.
The Israeli military said police and troops intervened and arrested at least one Israeli. They condemned the action.
