Israel completely surrounds the Gaza Strip

The IDF controls the entire border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.

This is what the Israeli military official said: Daniel Hagari, Write The Times of Israel.

“A fourteen-kilometer stretch of territory, also known as the Philadelphia Route, serves as Hamas’ oxygen pipeline. Along the corridor adjacent to the southern city of Rafah, the Israeli military has discovered about 20 tunnels leading to Egypt. Through these tunnels, weapons can enter using 82 shafts,” the report said.

Dozens of rocket launchers were found along the border. Hamas placed them tens of meters from the Egyptian border. In recent weeks alone, Israel has fired about 70 rockets from Rafah.

Israeli ground forces have captured most of the corridor. A small area near the coast that is free of Israeli troops is controlled by the IDF through surveillance and firepower.

Meanwhile, Egyptian state television Al-Qahira News reported that a source said reports about the construction of a tunnel between Egypt and the Gaza Strip were false.

“Israel continues to spread lies about the status of its forces in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip,” the source said.

In early May, the Israeli army began its ground operation as scheduled. The IDF said they carried out “surgical strikes” on targets in the east of the city, destroying Hamas infrastructure and underground tunnels.
