Is it worth waiting a month for more content from Penelope and Colin?

It doesn’t help that Colin is still very much a well-defined character. Hanging around in Parisian brothels isn’t enough to make him a fully-fledged love interest.

Pan without Colin is still an influential, silver-tongued woman. Colin without Pan is just a rich man with long sideburns. At the end of episode six, Colin finally discovers Pan’s secret. But at the moment, it’s hard to understand the meaning of this revelation, other than the obvious sense of betrayal.

To be fair Bridgetowncreated by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, is technically the point. While women may seem to be subservient to men, they are the ones who can change the narrative.

This half of the season is a little less innocent than the first half, and finally reveals the sexy side of Pen that we all knew about.

It also has more respect for its supporting characters. Cressida Cowper is transformed from a one-dimensional bully into a woman determined to escape the stifling life her parents have planned for her. Meanwhile, Francesca Bridgerton’s marriage to Lord Kilmartin is built largely on amicable silences, a far cry from the dramatic trysts that are synonymous with “Game of Thrones.” Bridgetown Name.

The second half of the season is packed with everything but the kitchen sink – pregnancy, multiple weddings, the fake Lady Whistledown, blackmail and, of course, too many outrageous wigs to count. But none of that can distract from the fact that it’s missing a crucial point. Bridgetown The best part: the chase. Without the chase, we’d just be back to the same old secrets and some sweaty but tasteful sex.

In the final scene of the film, the secret is revealed when Pen asks the Queen for permission to explain herself in front of all high society. Pen carefully planned every step in her quest for the truth, and the whole process is shocking. But is anyone shocked? No. Everyone accepts the truth and moves on. Pen drops her infamous pseudonym for her real name, they all have a child, and they live happily ever after.

For those of us who enjoyed the chaos and anticipation of the first half of the season, we’re feeling a little numb. I can’t help but wonder if it would have been more exciting if Pen had been thrown into a dungeon, or chased out of Mayfair. After all, we need something to replace the thrill of the chase.
