Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the U.S. Congress earlier today. He then called for further unity between the United States and the State of Israel and stated that Israel has no intention of taking root in the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu then opened fire on Iran and people protesting Israel’s actions in the conflict, whom he called “useful innocents of Iran.”

Middle East Axis

Netanyahu said the conflict in the Gaza Strip is not a conflict between two civilizations, but a conflict between civilization and barbarism.

He then called for greater unity between the United States and Israel and said Iran and its allies posed a threat to the Middle East.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the parliament building to protest Netanyahu’s visit, but protests also took place in other cities across the U.S. Police used pepper spray on some protesters at the Capitol.

“My message to the protesters is this: When the dictator in Tehran shows you support, raises awareness and gives you power, you officially become useful innocents in Iran, which hangs homosexuals and kills women who don’t cover their hair,” Netanyahu said.

Wants Palestinian control over civil power

“The day we defeat Hamas, the Gaza Strip will be able to rise again. I envision a Gaza without military and extremist forces,” he said, adding that Israel has no intention of taking root in Gaza but to build a civilian force in the Palestinian-controlled area.

“There should be a Palestinian-led civilian force in the Gaza Strip. A force that does not seek the destruction of Israel,” he said.

Immediate praise for Trump and Biden

Netanyahu praised U.S. President Joe Biden’s tireless efforts on behalf of hostages held by Hamas.

He also heaped praise on former US President Donald Trump, praising his actions on many issues.

In this regard, he mentioned Trump’s recognition of Israel’s undisputed rights in the Golan Heights and resistance to Iranian aggression, as well as Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the decision to move the US embassy there.
