Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement: “We have deployed hundreds of missiles in Bandar Abbas and we are ready to launch them soon on the orders of Ayatollah Khamenei.
According to The Washington Post, the Biden administration “informed U.S. lawmakers that Iran may retaliate on Monday (08/05) or Tuesday (08/06).”
While some last-minute diplomatic efforts are underway to prevent an Iranian response, Tehran is preparing and making it known that an attack is imminent.
As reported by The Guardian in its publication, the Guardian asked the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold a special meeting on Wednesday in order to truly gain the support of the member states of the organization, which says it is his right to be held responsible for his murder in Chania on his own land.
Many Gulf leaders are willing to condemn Haniyeh’s killing, but they do not want tensions in the region to escalate further, as that would be disastrous.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday at the organization’s headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, The Guardian reported.

Meanwhile, Iran told several foreign ambassadors in Tehran that it has the right to respond and will certainly do so in the near future.
US sends message to Iran not to escalate tensions
A State Department spokesman said on Monday that the U.S. government has urged other countries to send the message to Iran through diplomatic channels that escalation in the Middle East is not in the U.S. interest, while U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the current situation a “critical moment” in the region.
Blinken assured that Washington has been “working intensively diplomatically around the clock” to ease tensions amid concerns over Tehran’s alleged retaliation against Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh last week.
Blinken said in a meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in the US capital that “all parties must avoid escalation.”
“All parties must take steps to reduce tensions. Escalation is in no one’s interest. It will lead to more conflict, more violence and more insecurity.”
Iran accused Israel of killing Ismail Haniyeh last Wednesday and said the Jewish state would impose “severe punishment” for the killing of Hamas leader and senior Lebanese Hezbollah official Fuad Sokur in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last Tuesday.
Israel has not officially claimed responsibility for the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, but has vowed to destroy Hamas after the Palestinian Islamist movement’s military wing launched an unprecedented assault on southern parts of its territory on October 7, sparking the devastating war in Gaza.
Yesterday, U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed by their national security team on developments, particularly the threats posed by Iran and its allies to U.S. military personnel in the region, according to the U.S. president.
They were briefed on the attack on Iraq’s Al Asad air base and the measures being considered to protect members of the U.S. armed forces and respond to any attack. At least five U.S. troops were injured in the rocket attack? A U.S. official told Reuters.
It was stressed to them that it was “not clear” whether, when and how Iran and Hezbollah would attack Israel.
They were also briefed on U.S. military operations to support Israel’s defense if it is targeted. In addition, diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the region and efforts by Israel and Hamas to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip (which remains deadlocked) are always at the service of the U.S. president.
Earlier yesterday, Mr Blinken spoke with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian Prime Minister Badr Abdulati.
In his speech in Washington, Blinken again called on all parties to “break this cycle of violence” and reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip – despite the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, a key figure in indirect negotiations. He stressed that “it is urgent for all parties to make the right choice in the coming hours and days” and called on them to reach an agreement rather than “find ways to delay or reject it.”
