Meta has found evidence that an Iranian hacking group tried to break into the WhatsApp social network accounts (owned by Meta) of American officials linked to the administrations of U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

The FBI confirmed to TASS that it is investigating a cyberattack allegedly launched by Iran on the Trump campaign headquarters. Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations told TASS that Tehran had “neither the intention nor the plan to conduct a cyberattack,” noting that the Islamic Republic’s authorities did not interfere in the US presidential election.
