According to the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran, Iran held a three-day mourning ceremony for the death of Ismail Haniyeh, chairman of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The Iranian government condemned the “terrorist act” against Haniyeh, calling it “yet another clear proof of the terrorist nature of Zionism.” [i.e. Israel] regime.”
Tehran also expressed support for the “oppressed but resilient” Palestinian people.
