Statistics from the Iranian General Customs Administration show that Iran’s imports from Uzbekistan fell by 3% in value and 39% in weight in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 20-April 19, 2023) compared with the same period last year (March 21-April 20, 2023). trend report.

Data showed that in the first month, Iran imported 1,360 tons of products from Uzbekistan worth about $3 million.

Statistics show that in the first month of the last Iranian year, Iran imported 2,240 tons of products from Uzbekistan worth $3.07 million.

In addition, the information adds that Iran imported cotton, beans, silk, ammonium nitrate, etc. from Uzbekistan in the first month.

Meanwhile, in the previous Iranian year (March 21, 2023-March 19, 2024), Iran imported 84,700 tons of products worth $125 million from Uzbekistan. Compared with the previous year (March 21, 2022-March 20, 2023), Iran’s imports from Uzbekistan increased by 72.7% in value and 140% in weight.

In addition, Iran’s non-oil product imports totaled 2.4 million tons worth $2.7 billion in the first month of this Iranian year (March 20-April 20, 2024). Compared with the same period last year, the value of non-oil product imports in the first month decreased by 11.4% and the weight increased by 33.4%.

It is important to note that Iran focuses mainly on importing products needed for the country and imposes certain restrictions on the import of domestically manufactured products.
