I still remember that when ChatGPT was first launched in early 2023, the reactions from all parties were both surprised and delighted. Generative artificial intelligence suddenly appeared, and many people loved this “new friend”, but at the same time, there were also many opposing voices, who had reservations about this “new friend”. However, more than a year later, although many people still have doubts about artificial intelligence, AI has already been integrated into our lives.

If you have ever ridden in or owned a Tesla electric car, its AutoPilot is a type of artificial intelligence. Tesla has been testing point-to-point fully self-driving in the United States and other countries, and announced earlier that it would launch the driverless taxi Robotaxi in October this year, which has driven Tesla’s stock price up. In China, Baidu (09888) The recently launched “Carrot Run” tested driverless taxis one step ahead of Tesla. The response from the mainland citizens was very enthusiastic because the fares of “Carrot Run” were much cheaper than ordinary taxis in the mainland. Although it is only a test for the time being and the range of operation is limited, it has sounded the alarm for the mainland taxi industry. The arrival of driverless taxis this time seems to be more “destructive” than online ride-hailing services. This is the change that artificial intelligence has integrated into our lives. Of course, driverless vehicles still have many technical, ethical and privacy issues that need to be resolved, but from a technological perspective, we are absolutely happy to see companies brave enough to try and launch new services.

Initially, the application level of generative artificial intelligence was mainly for word processing. Later, it developed into drawing, making short films, programming, etc., and was widely used in various fields. If you have used Copilot for Microsoft 365, you only need to enter a few “magic spells” in Copilot, explain the requirements, and provide some background information or files for reference. You can get the required files in a few minutes (the files that can be produced include Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.). For example, if you upload a company’s annual report to Copilot in PowerPoint, you can compile an annual report profile of the company in about a few minutes. I believe that it takes at least several working days for ordinary people to complete it, so artificial intelligence can definitely improve work efficiency.

Although generative AI is very convenient, there are still many problems to be solved. One of the most serious is the accuracy of the content. If you are not familiar with a project, but hope that AI can help you make a big fuss, but there is no way to verify the content of the information (i.e. Fact Check), then I advise you not to act rashly. Because from personal experience, although AI is extremely powerful, its accuracy is still biased, and it often misjudges many facts, so it needs to be used with caution. Just like self-driving cars, although the technology is very mature, it does not mean that there are no problems. When encountering a traffic accident, who is responsible is another issue.

I would like to advise everyone that artificial intelligence has been born and it will not disappear suddenly, but will only become more and more powerful. If you do not want to be replaced by artificial intelligence one day, you should learn how to use and conquer artificial intelligence. Human creativity can never be replaced by artificial intelligence.
