The sport of indoor football, also known as futsal, should be part of the next four-year Olympic cycle of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) in order to popularize it and increase the number of practitioners.

This assurance is contained in the conclusions of the Angolan Football Federation’s recent congress in Cabinda, as part of the process of renewing the mandate of Angola’s main sports governing body.

Carlos Alberto Zita, spokesman for the conference, said that the inclusion of indoor football in the calendar of activities of the Provincial Football Association (APF) for the next four years of the FAF Olympic cycle is currently being evaluated.

“Futsal must enjoy the same conditions for promotion as other forms. However, the congress is pleased with its integration into all provincial football associations, confirming the directive to include it in the APF,” he said.

Indoor football (futsal) is a type of football played on a playing field by teams of five players.

Remember that the current FAF Olympic cycle, led by Artur Almeida, has ended and at that meeting, elections for the quadrennial period 2024-2028 were scheduled for November 30. An electoral committee was also created, composed of Kelson Cristóvão, president, Nelson José Saraiva Vieira, scrutineer, and Luísa Nicolau, secretary of the board.
