“We hope that Poland can provide support by organizing business delegations to Indonesia to participate in gaming events and business matchmaking.”
JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno met with Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage Hanna Wróblewska to discuss best practices in Polish game development, especially game exporters.
The two met on August 23, 2024 in Warsaw, Poland.
In a statement released by his office on Saturday, Uno mentioned that Poland has successfully become Europe’s largest exporter of games, especially games that spread Polish cultural content.
“We learn from Poland the projects implemented by the Polish government and use them as a benchmark for Indonesia,” he said.
The statement pointed out that the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland is responsible for protecting national heritage and promoting Polish culture. The Ministry also develops projects in the field of digitalization, especially promoting Polish culture through literature, design, visual arts, music and film (including the gaming industry).
As a result, several Polish game companies have received financial support to develop the Polish game industry by combining cultural elements with specific achievements of the game industry, such as “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk”, Uno said.
Uno also suggested conducting comparative studies to gain a deeper understanding of the development of the gaming industry that incorporates cultural elements, as well as the development of the capabilities of gaming studios.
He then invited his Polish counterparts and their gaming industry to invest in the Indonesian gaming industry, especially by taking advantage of the ICCF (Indonesia Creative Content Fund) that is currently being prepared.
“We hope that Poland will be willing to provide support and organize business delegations to Indonesia to participate in gaming events and business matchmaking,” he noted.
Poland could also observe the development of Indonesia’s gaming industry or launch training programs, he added.
