The Indian Navy’s second domestically-produced nuclear submarine, INS Arihant, has been commissioned.
Milli.Az quoted report.az as saying that the Indian Ministry of Defense released information about the matter.
A ceremony to hand over the submarine to the Navy took place at Visakhapatnam Port in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
“‘Arihant’ will further strengthen India’s nuclear triad, help establish strategic balance and regional peace, and play an important role in national security,” the Indian Defense Minister said at the ceremony.
The first Arihant submarine entered service in 2016.
