The sweeping plan will see more than 700,000 voters moved to different federal seats, reshaping the political competition between independents and Labor and the Liberals in key Sydney seats.
The draft redistribution of NSW seats would not only remove the North Sydney seat held by independent MP Kylea Tink, but would also expand the neighbouring seat of Warringah – held by fellow “blue-green” independent MP Zali Steggall – into suburbs such as Cremorne and North Sydney.

Another “blue-green” electorate on the north side of the harbour is Mackellar on the northern beaches, held by Sophie Scamps, which will expand southwards into territory currently in Warringah, such as the area around Brookvale.
The former Liberal seat of Bennelong, now held by Labor candidate Jerome Laxale, will be expanded eastwards to include parts of North Sydney suburbs such as Lane Cove.
The Liberal seat of Bradfield, which has been one of the party’s strongholds for years, will also expand its boundaries, which could reshape the competitive landscape at the next election.

The seat is currently held by Liberal MP, frontbencher and former cabinet minister Paul Fletcher, who faces a challenge from independent campaigner Nicolette Boele, who received funding from Climate 200 at the last election.
