The employee supported the team. He wanted to cross to the base camp. Other expedition members tried to rescue him. However, they were unsuccessful. Expedition members and villagers immediately launched a search. The police learned about this and supported the search.
The study began on August 12 and is expected to last until August 22 and will be carried out in the forests and waters of the village of Apetina towards Krin Kasaba. Among other things, the study focuses on the inventory of forest by-products, wildlife and fish populations. The expedition was stopped immediately.
All relevant parties have been informed of the situation. “We hope and believe that the expedition member is not injured and that he will be returned to us as soon as possible,” Amazon Conservation Group Guyana said in a statement.
