What does the Bible or Quran say about false information and rumors?

“There are facts based on rumors and false information that shocked me, including recently, when the president and his delegation were in France for the Olympics, people said that his minister of youth and sports was arrested in connection with a case involving him. Many people believed that this was true information because it caused a lot of protests. Therefore, we had to release a video in which the sports minister gave advice to the athletes so that we can understand that the arrest we said was a lie.”
“If we recall, in 2014, when the country was in conflict, as we were preparing for Tabaski, a dead body of a Muslim was found in the combat zone. According to fake news makers, it was a gift from Tabaski to Muslims. I assure you today that many non-Muslims in Km5 lost their lives when the news came out, although those who acted were not sure what was being said. Because no one identified the murderer, this is something we deplore every time. We must not shy away from unsanctioned information.”
