In Côte d’Ivoire, the spectre of cyanide contamination in the Cavally River

Nearly 3,000 litres of cyanide-contaminated sludge leaked into the waters of the Kavali River in late June. Endeavour Mining, the company that operates the Ity gold mine and is responsible for the accident, has assured that the situation is under control.
