The Baghdad Operations Command announced late Saturday that it had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder in the northeast of the capital.
“In order to strengthen security and stability in all areas of the capital Baghdad and hunt down lawless and criminal elements, a unit of the Fifth Department of the Federal Police arrested two defendants for the above-mentioned crimes,” the command said in a statement. “Premeditated murder” in the “Rusafa side” of the “Al-Shaab” area.
“Upon receiving information about the murder, a joint task force was immediately formed to head to the designated location. After investigation, inspection, information gathering, surveillance camera tracking and expanded search circles, the identities of the perpetrators were revealed and they were arrested in a well-planned ambush and handed over to the competent authorities,” the statement added.
