The Hoho’a Society is now accepting applications for its 14th annual photography exhibition, which will be held in the large exhibition hall at the Te Fare Iamanaha Museum from November 8 to December 24.

Hoho’a brings together amateur and professional photographers to help promote the art of photography in Polynesia. If you are passionate about photography, here’s how you can get involved.

“Paths and Journeys”, This is the chosen theme. This theme offers a wealth of creative possibilities. It can be a symbolism of travel, movement or transformation and can be interpreted literally or metaphorically. In a literal sense: these can be photos showing journeys in various environments, waterways, roads or paths. In a metaphorical interpretation: more abstract themes can be considered, such as the passage of time, the journey of life or the change of seasons.

The call for applications involves amateur or professional photographers.

The deadline for submitting photos is currently July 31, 2024. The photographers’ choice will be made by a jury chaired by Miriama Bonno. Photographers will receive the exhibition terms at the end of the selection; they commit to providing printed photos by early November.

Photos must be sent to the following email address: expohohoa2024@gmail.comjpeg format, 72 dpi, approximately 1900 pixels, including the photographer’s contact information and the title of the work (no pdf file, and must not be sent via download platforms).

Finally, the photographs must be recent and taken in Polynesia. To participate in the exhibition, you must be a member of the Society (annual subscription fee of 3000 Fcfp).
