Jurnielle Lomé from Grand Santi had to leave her hometown after her junior year to attend Lama-Prévot High School in Rémire-Montjoly. Many riverine students took this route, as there were no secondary schools outside the coast. Today, at the age of 20, she is looking back on this experience as she is about to start her second year at the University of Guyana.
