Tourism Minister James Monazadeh briefed the public on the implementation of inclusive governance policies in the tourism sector. The Ministry of Tourism hopes to listen to all stakeholders in the tourism industry to find common solutions to ensure that the country remains one of the must-visit tourist destinations in the Caribbean.
“We are working to enhance synergy in the tourism sector. No stakeholder in the entire chain will be left behind,” Minister James Monazadeh promised.
To this end, the Ministry of Tourism organized last week a day of dialogue and reflection on the impact of the security crisis on the tourism industry and the prospects for resuming tourism activities, which is a cornerstone of the inclusive governance policy advocated by Minister Monazzar. This day of reflection is just the first in a series of upcoming meetings.
Launching this day of reflection, Monazar took the opportunity to present to the tourism industry stakeholders the three fundamental pillars of his strategy, namely tourism as an economic catalyst, cultural tourism as a flagship product, ecotourism as a complementary product, and targeting the Haitian diaspora. He mentioned two flagship projects in the short and medium term, namely the “Vakans Lakay” project, aimed at returning the diaspora to Haiti, and “Haiti, we are back”, aimed at putting Haiti back on the world tourism map.
