iciHaiti – Taiwan: Strengthening infrastructure and energy cooperation

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Taiwan (Republic of China) Ambassador to Haiti Gu Wenjian, accompanied by the Embassy’s Second Counselor Raogo Jyr-geng Wu, received the Minister of Public Works, Engineer Raphaël Hosty, and two members of his cabinet for a working meeting.
The talks focused primarily on cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan in the areas of infrastructure and energy.
Ambassador Gu said Taiwan is committed to supporting certain initiatives, especially in the “Tree Plain” region, and promoting academic exchanges by providing scholarships to Taiwan. These scholarships will target the fields of water conservancy, telecommunications and civil engineering.
Minister Hosti was accompanied on the visit by two members of the Cabinet: Chief of the General Staff, Engineer Wilson Edouard, and Cabinet member Jacques Emmanuel Mexil.
