“The outlook for next weekend is very good,” said Jónas Guðbjörn Jónsson, chairman of the National Festival Committee. “There is already a great atmosphere in the town and it will be in the valley tonight and over the weekend. We are Icelanders and we are used to everything, so it doesn’t matter what the weather is like.”
A Channel 2 reporter interviewed Jonas on the evening news.
How many people do you expect this year?
“We’re just hoping for the best and for as many people as possible to come. We’d probably be really happy if 15,000 people came, that would be awesome,” Jonas said.
He said the weather didn’t matter at all.
“No, we’re Icelanders, we’re used to everything,” he said.
