The entrepreneur denied rumors that the company was acquired by the attackers
Tatyana Bakalchuk, founder of Wildberry Market, said there were no attackers taking over and no one was “squeezing out” her business.
Earlier, Bakalchuk’s husband Vladislav announced that Wildberry was being held by the attackers during a meeting with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. He said his wife had left home and their business was being “squeezed out” by an unidentified company that Tatiana had contacted.
The owner of Wildberry then admitted that she had filed for divorce from her husband. The couple had been married for more than two decades and had seven children during that time. Tatiana Bakalchuk also recorded a video explaining the situation in detail.
“As you can see, I’m doing well. I’m alive and well. I’m not a hostage, just as I’m not a captive in the Caucasus. I don’t hide anything from anyone and I don’t conceal anything… I’m in Moscow, where I work,” the businesswoman said.
According to the entrepreneur, her husband personally attended the presentation of the new structure of the company’s top management. She also posted a photo of them sitting together at that meeting.
The Wildberry founder noted that Vladislav had always held only one percent of the shares and had never participated in the management of the company. In order to maintain the market’s growth rate and continue to develop, the merger was called a “raider acquisition” by the man.
Bakalchuk also denied rumors that her children have been unable to contact her for a long time and do not know where their mother is. She assured that until recently she personally accompanied the older children to a neighboring city, and the younger ones are now on vacation with their grandmother.
