“I suggest that Azerbaijan establish a bilateral mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations,” said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, commenting on the latest statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense at a meeting of the Civil Contract Party Initiative Group in Kapan.
“The reports released by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry can indicate two things: that there are real ceasefire violations or that they are trying to create an escalation or create a context for escalation. In all cases, this is not in line with our political will, and I have already said that our Defense Ministry denies this situation. I think that every time we can clarify the situation, it is better to establish a bilateral mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations,” he said.
Pashinyan noted that military prosecutors or other officials could be involved from multiple sides, which he believes could be a viable mechanism.
