Former Chelsea legend and 2013 African Champion John Obi Mikel has clarified his stance on Nicolas Jackson, whose status quo no longer applies.
The torch was burning between Nicolas Jackson and John Obi Mikel. Although the Senegalese striker responded on the field (scoring against Wolves) and made vicious remarks to the Nigerien following his criticism, Obi Mikel hit back and clarified his thoughts during the game. Obi One Podcast.
The former Super Eagle first admired the Lions’ performance during the Blues’ victory over Wolves (2-6) this weekend, then once again stung the Chelsea number 15 shirt, but this time with tact.
“I’m grateful for the win and for all the players involved. Nicolas Jackson played really well. Not only the goal, I thought his pass today was really good too. He’s fantastic (…) If he scores every weekend and tells me to shut up, I’ll take it. I like him as a player, I never said he was a bad player. I just said the quality of the finish wasn’t great. He’s a young player who needs more experience at the club to help him get better (…) If he plays well, I’ll give him credit” He confided.
😉 “Keep scoring goals and I’ll shut up”
