Health Minister Alexandru Rafira claims that he has no reason to consider resigning following the shocking cases at the “San Pantelimon” hospital in Bucharest.
“I am personally affected by the contents of the prosecutor’s office report, but the judge must be allowed to perform his duties. I have no reason to assume that this is the case, because a premeditated murder is being discussed, and I have no reason to resign.
Resigning for something we cannot control or influence, no one can intervene in the personal death of a doctor, it is a professional decision. From this point of view, I do not think this issue is a problem of the Ministry of Health.
“It is the doctor’s responsibility to reduce the dose, determine the dose, whether to reduce it, whether to increase it, whether it is norepinephrine or something else. I am a microbiologist, there are specialists there. Why do you want us, this happens in the public, people with no medical education say how the patient should be treated, it is a lack of responsibility, they don’t do it. I cannot question their (ATI doctors) decisions,” said Alexandru Rafila.
