The photo was liked by many people and many posted it on their social media and WhatsApp statuses showing how much they liked the photo.
The photo taken by the candidate for the presidency Paul Kagame greeted the child and the mother of the child was asked with great joy that he was going to show the child what President Paul Kagame looks like in person because before he had only seen him on television.
Speaking to Kigali Today, Mukandayisenga explained that his son, though still young, is already aware of the ongoing activities as he often watches them on television with his parents.
He said: “I don’t know how to explain it because he loves President Kagame so even when he hears a plane flying through the sky he says it is President Kagame and he likes us to tell him he loves him but because we cannot reach him we try to meet him wherever he is going to campaign”.
To help the kid fulfill his desire to find a presidential candidate, they travelled from Musanze District to Gicumbi District to campaign but did not get a chance to meet him up close.
After returning home, the child continued to ask his parents how to greet him, so they had to go back to another area, they went to Gakenke area, but they wanted the child to greet the candidate, Paul Kagame.
The child also participated in an advertising campaign with the help of his parents wearing clothes that showed support for candidate Paul Kagame.
The boy said he saw artists including Junior Giti and Knowless wearing balls with President Kagame’s picture on them and he asked them to buy it for him and his parents went and sewed the ball, put a picture of Paul Kagame on it and wrote ‘I love him’.
“Then he told us to buy him a medal, so we bought it and put it on that ball,” he said.
His parents continued to support his ideas and his mother, Mukandayisenga, gave him a cotton cap in the same colours as the RPF logo and bought him trousers in the same colours as the Greek uniform.
When the child’s mother, Mukandayisenga, heard that the plan to send her son to meet presidential candidate Paul Kagame was not enough, she ran to the market and bought a bottle with the colours of the RPF-Inkotanyi logo and placed it on his cheek.
He said: “God did hear our son’s request because presidential candidate Paul Kagame came before us. We raised the flag to greet him. I saw him clench his fist and handed him the Sensi, my son did it and I did the same. “If you can see this in the photo, I am really happy, I am not wrong and we love him too.
Kigali Today asked Mukanda Isenga if their sons’ love for President Kagame had nothing to do with what they say about him at home, to which he responded that among his four children, he was the one who left and talked about him the most. He was going to be a soldier when he grew up.
He said: “Whether his father is the boss of the industry or he just loves me, I am like his mother, I am really happy and very happy.”
The father of the child, identified as Musa Bwanakweli, is the Executive Secretary of Cyuve ward in Musanze District while the mother of the child, Mukandayisenga Donatille, also worked in the local government and was once the Executive Secretary of Ryaruyumba group in Manyagiro ward in Gicumbi District before he left it to work for himself.
