Roman Yeritsyan, a lawyer from Artsakh, shared a message:

Dear compatriots

The preliminary investigation agency filed an application with the court to detain my brother Aram Yeritsyan for two months. The court session is scheduled for tomorrow (August 4) at 12:00 am at the Shenavit Court (address: 24/1 Arshakunyats, Yerevan).

I thank all those who came in person, called or wrote to support us today, but your presence tomorrow is very necessary. Yes, tomorrow is Sunday, a day of rest. I know you have different holiday plans, some are busy, some live outside Yerevan. However, all those who sympathize with me, my brothers or every citizen of Artsakh, who are against rampant lawlessness and are ready to fight it, should be present in court tomorrow. This is a great and appropriate moment to show solidarity.

I have personally fought for each of you or at least one of your relatives or friends. I have helped everyone who needed help. Whether my client was an official or a private citizen, I did everything in my power to restore the rights that had been violated.

Now is the time to show your support. Now is the time to stand together and resist this lawless behavior.

Let us show how united we can be. Let us show that we care about the fate of all Artsakh citizens. Let us show that we are against the unjustified and illegal imprisonment of people.

I repeat, all of you must be present. I mean not only the people of Artsakh, but all residents of Armenia. All those who are against torture, those who care about the situation in Armenia, those who have somehow become victims of illegal actions of patrols or other “law enforcement” agencies.

Today, hundreds of Artsakh citizens are imprisoned or have their freedom restricted. People whose right to freedom is restricted for fictitious and unreasonable reasons. We should all stop tolerating this. Anyone could be my brother.

No one can solve our problems except ourselves. Let us at least demand to be respected and not treated like slaves.

I repeat, anyone can take my brother’s place, so I wait for all of you to start a new struggle and put the demands of respecting the people of Artsakh on the agenda. ”
