Hurricane Beryl has strengthened into a “potentially catastrophic” Category 5 hurricane and devastated several Caribbean islands, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said Tuesday. As many as seven Category 3 or higher hurricanes are expected this year due to warmer ocean temperatures and weather patterns associated with La Nina.
