Hunter Biden, son of President Biden be accused Fox News reported on Sunday that a miniseries produced by the company broke the law by sharing explicit photos and videos of him without his permission.
Titled “The Trials of Hunter Biden,” the show, which first aired on the network’s streaming service Fox Nation in 2022, dramatizes Biden’s criminal trial and presents fictional charges. “Fox published and distributed these intimate photos to its millions of viewers as part of its entertainment programming with the intent to humiliate, harass, annoy and alarm Mr. Biden and tarnish his reputation,” the lawsuit states.
A Fox News spokesperson called Biden’s lawsuit “entirely politically motivated” and “without merit” in a statement Monday.
“Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon,” the spokesperson said. “Fox News accurately reported newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making under the First Amendment, and we look forward to asserting our rights in court.”
Fox removed “The Trial of Hunter Biden” from Fox Nation in April, a day after Biden’s lawyers sent a letter to Fox asking it to remove the miniseries.
“The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming show about which Mr. Biden did not complain until a letter was sent in late April 2024,” a Fox spokesperson said Monday, adding that the network removed the show “out of an abundance of caution.”
Last month, Mr. Biden was found guilty Three felony charges He is set to go on trial this year for tax evasion. The Fox miniseries depicts Biden as being on trial for bribery and acting as a foreign agent, but authorities have never brought those charges against him.
A representative for Biden’s law firm declined to comment Monday on the complaint, which seeks compensatory and punitive damages and requires Fox to remove any explicit images of Biden from its platform.
