Húnaþing Vestra is calling for ideas for tourism development projects that will be included in the priority list of the Northern Destination Plan. Priority projects in the destination plan will receive additional points when assessing applications for the Tourism Destination Implementation Fund.
A detailed description of the project, information on the parties involved and consent from all landowners (if applicable) must be submitted. It should also be stated whether you plan to apply for a grant from the Project Implementation Fund in this year’s allocation.
The deadline to submit ideas for development projects is Friday 30 August.

The North Tourism Destination Plan was first developed in 2018. The plan contains an assessment of tourism in the North and a prioritization of projects over the next three years. More information on projects and destination plans is available You can view it here.
In recent years, similar projects have been identified as priorities for the Húnaþing Vestra. They are:
- Wattsness.
- Table one cent.
- Cigarette holder.
- Coal Canyon.
- Trail systems in Hvammstangi and elsewhere.
