Armed police are investigating the case of a decomposed human leg found in the Maipu Canal in the metropolitan area.
The commune has seen similar incidents in recent months, including executions.
According to preliminary information, unidentified persons informed the gendarmerie in Maipu of the presence of the severed limb. This information was confirmed by the police on the canal at René Olivares Street and Camino el Bosque.
The discovery has been reported to the Western Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Officewhich is co-ordinating the first proceedings surrounding the horrific incident, while police scour the area for the possibility of finding more remains.
