Hu Ye: A car accident occurred, two people were injured

Tomatoes on a Fuso truck were damaged and scattered on the road

Spokesperson of the Road Safety Police, SP Kayigi Emmanuel, told Kigali Today that the accident was caused by a road sign falling from two vehicles as they were travelling separately, causing the vehicles to collide.

He said, “The accident was caused by both drivers not keeping to the right side of the road.”

SP Kayigi said the drivers of the vehicles sustained injuries and were currently receiving treatment at Kabutare Hospital.

The accident damaged two vehicles, one of which was carrying tomatoes that were scattered on the road.

A fuel truck was also damaged.

SP Kayigi advised drivers not to sleep on the road as it would lead to accidents among them and when someone escapes from another vehicle, he would find pedestrians on the roadside who sometimes join in.

SP Kayigi reminded motorists to be careful and cautious when travelling as failure to obey traffic rules could lead to accidents and injuries.

“It’s important to obey the law, but people should avoid being careless because some people cause accidents for other reasons, including talking on the phone and driving under the influence,” he said.
