Lea Gleitman, the last survivor of the Malmö Holocaust Witness Association, has died at the age of 100.
– My mother was an enthusiastic, sociable person with enormous personal physical and spiritual strength. She also had a strong sense of responsibility and a sense of holding the family together, her daughter, lecturer and author Barbro Posner, told Sydsvenskan.
For nearly 30 years, Lea Gleitman has been spreading her story through lectures in Swedish schools, libraries and churches. She is also active in the Holocaust Survivors Association, a network of children and grandchildren of Jewish refugees.
– We must use our knowledge and experience. This must never happen again. We must never forget, Lea Gleitman said before Express.
She leaves behind two daughters, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
