Ms. Hirunika Premachandra, a former MP, has filed an appeal against her acquittal and three-year jail sentence.
It is learnt that the petition was transferred to the Colombo High Court and forwarded to the Court of Appeal.
Ms Hirunika Premachandra has requested the Colombo High Court to grant her bail as she has appealed against the verdict.
The request will be considered by Judge Amal Ranaraja of the Colombo High Court on the 4th.
