Hong Kong Polytechnic University Vice President (Research and Innovation) Zhao Ruheng recently led a group of PolyU research and start-up teams to participate in the first exhibition held in Beijing.2024The Global Entrepreneurs Summit and Entrepreneurship Competition showcased seven groundbreaking scientific research projects, including the “Table sampling execution device“, and was exhibited outside Hong Kong for the first time. In addition, PolyU scholars won the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurship Competition award with their innovative inventions in quantum technology and biomedical engineering.

The research project “Key Distribution System Based on Quantum Chip” led by Professor Liu Aiqun, Chair Professor of Quantum Engineering and Science, Director of the Institute of Quantum Technology and Distinguished Creative Scientist of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of PolyU, won the second prize and received a prize of RMB 1 million.

In addition, Professor Henry Leung of PolyU’s Biomedical Engineering and co-founder of Sino-Wise Medical Imaging Company, Zheng Yongping, and his team won the third prize and received a prize of RMB 500,000 for the world’s first radiation-free three-dimensional ultrasonic scoliosis assessment system, Scolioscan.
