We had to call these authors to find out more: What brought them into this world? What did they learn? How were they thinking about economics when they wrote these amazing books?
In today’s program, we delve into this question. We interviewed three contemporary bestselling novelists – Li Minjin (Pinball Machine and Free food for millionaires), Emily St. John Mandel (Stop 11, Glass Hotel and Sea of Tranquility) and Hernan Diaz (Trust, in the distance)—about how the hidden power of economics and money influences their work.
