Heat waves to return to Uzbekistan this week but will subside by Friday

Central Asia (USA) After a relatively cool weekend, temperatures across Uzbekistan will start to rise again, the Uzbek Meteorological Service reported.

From August 12 to 15, daytime temperatures will rise to +37…+40 degrees in most parts of the country, and to +42…+43 degrees in the south.

On Thursday, another cold front will begin to penetrate the Northwest. In the Karakalpakstan and Khorezm regions, the temperature will drop to +28…+33 degrees.

On Friday, relatively cool air will move eastwards, and lower temperatures will cover the entire country of Uzbekistan. Daytime temperatures will be in the range of +33…+36 degrees, +28…+33 degrees in the northwest and +40 degrees in the south.

The weather remains dry in recent days, but there is a possibility of short-term rain and thunderstorms in parts of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region from August 13 to 15, and in parts of Tashkent region and Fergana Valley from August 15 to 16.

Wind speed is 7-12 m/s, increasing to 15-20 m/s in some areas, accompanied by dust and snow.

During the working week in Tashkent, the weather is clear, sometimes sunny and cloudy, and no precipitation is expected. The wind is from the east at 3−8 m/s; it may increase to 10−12 m/s on August 16.

The temperature at night was +22…+25 degrees, during the day from August 12 to 15 – +37…+39 degrees, on August 16 – +34…+36 degrees.
