Libreville, Thursday, July 25, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – At the invitation of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr. Thomas Bach, General Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema flew to France to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games scheduled for Friday, July 26, 2024.
The transitional President, who left Libreville yesterday, will support Gabonese athletes in their efforts to qualify for the Olympic Games, while taking advantage of his stop in France to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation that have so far united Gabon and France.
The Paris Olympic Games, scheduled for July 26 to August 11, 2024, have the special purpose of mobilizing the world’s sports elite and world leaders to unite to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the fields of education, vocational training, health, nutrition, etc.
The Gabonese President arrived in Paris two months after his recent visit to France, where he actively participated this Thursday, along with other heads of state, in an international summit on the theme “Sport for Sustainable Development”.
