The police in the Lesser Poland province received an unusual call. Residents of one of the properties caught a 52-year-old thief. The man tried to steal a chainsaw. However, he failed to retrieve the stolen goods because he had previously drunk up to nine bottles of home-made wine found on the property.
The incident took place on August 10, but the police did not report the unusual intervention until Monday. It took place in the town of Konary in the Mogielany commune (Małopolska).
“Officers from the Świątniki Górne police station were notified of a burglary at a farmhouse on private property. The assailant was a 52-year-old Ukrainian citizen. He broke into the house, smashed the window, and then tried to steal a chainsaw. During the theft, he drank nine bottles of homemade liquor.“- the police statement reads.
The 52-year-old man was intoxicated and was stopped by his family, who then called the police. The man has been detained by police.
