Spanish authorities are investigating a man who destroyed thousands of years old cave paintings by pouring water on them in order to take better photos for social media.
A 39-year-old man from Los Villares, in the Jaen province of Andalusia in southern Spain, uploaded the photo of the wet dishes to Facebook.
Photos show people pouring water over cave paintings to get a better view of them and take clearer photos. The damaged paintings are protected by the National Heritage Register and the man is being investigated for criminal charges against historic heritage.
