Rumor has it that the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan) has finally brokered a deal between Anwar Ibrahim and the Islamist party.

The agreement means that PAS will not oppose the coalition government in Parliament. PAS will also not speak out against Anwar in the media, including their own portal Harakah. We have seen that Mohamed Sanusi Mohamed Nor and Takiyuddin Hassan have toned down their rhetoric, and the allegations against Sanusi will be of no avail.

In exchange, Anwar promised to provide funds to PAS in the states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. The goal is to develop this understanding into an electoral agreement for the 16th general election in 2027 without hesitation. This will ensure Anwar’s re-election as prime minister and also show that UMNO has lost its “mojo” in the Malay heartland.

The Muslim Brotherhood is making a major push into Malaysia. Anwar has announced that wounded Hamas fighters will be flown to Malaysia for treatment. They will be allowed to go with their families.

In retrospect, this is exactly the direction Anwar had been working towards. We can now identify the direction Malaysia is heading towards.
