Libreville, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – Hans Obame Otounga has been free since last Monday. The Libreville Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant on July 3, 2024, declaring him not guilty of spreading false information.
The Gabonese court accused him of spreading false information through an audio recording in which he described himself as a victim of physical abuse in police custody, and that such false information disturbed public order.
His lawyer denied this and said his client had never committed such a crime. At the hearing on July 8, Mr. Mombembe pleaded not guilty.
It is therefore a victory for lawyers, family members and those close to the young man, given that the matter has caused much controversy in Gabon and in the diaspora.
