Haiti - SONAPI: Fire and rescue center inaugurated

Minister of Trade and Industry James Monazadeh this week inaugurated the National Corporation for Industrial Parks (SONAPI) Industrial Park Fire and Rescue Centre.

This modern centre is fully equipped to respond quickly to emergency situations and is designed to ensure the safety of the infrastructure and the thousands of visitors who visit the park every day.

In his speech, Minister Monazzar, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, stressed the importance of this initiative, which shows that the country is not willing to succumb to security challenges, but wants to overcome them through hard work and implementation of concrete solutions.

Monazar stressed the importance of prevention and rapid response capabilities in security as key elements in protecting people, property and investments in industrial parks.

In addition to enhancing safety, the Fire and Rescue Center also provides employment opportunities for young people. The center will also welcome trained and graduated firefighters to effectively respond to emergency situations. The Minister stressed that the project provides opportunities for career integration for many young people, guiding them towards noble and important professions based on dedication, service to the community and self-sacrifice.

As part of the inauguration, 24 young people were trained in firefighting, property protection and environmental protection techniques. The Minister commended the dedication of the trainers and young trainees who worked tirelessly to complete the training and make the centre fully operational.

He said this gesture of courage and determination was exemplary and embodied the spirit of public service necessary to meet the challenges of the time.
