Preparing for the start of the new school year
Prime Minister Gary Cornille held an important meeting with Minister of Economy and Finance Caitlin Florestal, Minister of Social Affairs George Wilbert Frank, representatives of the Ministry of National Education and publishers to discuss preparations for the 2024-2025 school year. The purpose of the meeting was to decide on support for textbooks for 2 million students during the return to school period and financial support for families in emergency situations. A surprise visit from the Minister of Health
On Friday, August 16, the Minister of Health, Georges Fils Brignol, made a surprise visit to the Directorate for Training and Development of Health Sciences (DFPSS) to ensure the smooth progress of the selection process for social service positions. From August 1 to 30, this process involved a total of 1,418 future residents from different faculties and institutions: the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (FMP), Campus Henri Christophe Delimonard (CHCL), the School of Medical Biology (EBM), the National University of Haiti (UEH), the UEH Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Dentistry, the National Institute for the Training of Midwives (INFSF), the National Nursing School of Port-au-Prince (ENIP), scholarship holders and special cases.
Handover of motorcycles to PoliTOUR
The Minister of Tourism, James Monazard, took the opportunity of visiting the Northern Tourist Police Detachment (PoliTOUR) to hand over 4 brand new motorcycles on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
