Haiti: GDP growth recorded negative growth for the sixth consecutive year
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, as part of the revision of its regional growth forecasts, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) announced that the expected regional growth rate is now 1.8%, down from the 2.1% forecast in May last year. In addition, Haiti (-3%) and Argentina (-3.6%) are the only two countries in the region with negative GDP forecasts. On the other hand, the Dominican Republic will have the highest growth rate among the Latin American and Caribbean countries, with a growth rate of 5.2%.
