Five ministries will be paired
The Presidential Transition Council (CPT) and Prime Minister Garry Conille envisage a cabinet of ministers composed of 13 ministries, 5 of which will be friendly. The Ministry of Agriculture will be friendly with the Ministry of Environment; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be friendly with the Ministry of Haitians Abroad; the Ministry of Planning will be friendly with the Ministry of Economy and Finance; the Ministry of Commerce will be friendly with the Ministry of Tourism; and finally, the Ministry of National Education will be friendly with the Ministry of Culture. In addition, 3 ministers at large will be responsible for security, elections and solidarity. The inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the transitional government will take place next week.
Journalist Desauguste appointed as Prime Minister’s spokesman
The Prime Minister’s Communications Office has informed that journalist Jean Jul Desauguste has been appointed Spokesperson for Prime Minister Garry Conille. Desauguste is a political communicator and communications trainer. He was a candidate for parliament in Cap-Haïtien and the author of the book “The President’s Speech”.

On Friday, June 7, members of the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) voted to allocate ministry posts to the parties on the Council, with each party being responsible for nominating (pending confirmation) the members of the ministry assigned to them.
CPT hopes journalists will have courage
As part of Latin America Press Freedom Day (June 7, 2024), the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) pays tribute to the very important work that journalists do in very precarious and dangerous conditions. While wishing journalists courage, the CPT is committed to guaranteeing free access to information at the level of public administration.
Norwegian presidential adviser
The Presidential Transition Council (CPT) informs that Commissioner Laurent Saint-Cyr has been invited to participate in the Oslo High-Level Forum in Norway from June 9 to 13, 2024. The Forum will bring together internationally renowned mediation and conflict resolution experts. Saint-Cyr will return to the country on June 13, 2024.
Argentina: “Support for Huerta” program
Ambassador Wilbert Belizel of Haiti, accompanied by Minister Counselor Mrs. Olga Meador Ducas, met with Ambassador Eduardo Porreti, the new President of the White Helmets of Argentina. The two sides discussed the “Support Huerta” program led by the White Helmets of Haiti, the Kirchner Hospital in Corail, and Haiti’s support for the OAS White Helmets.
