Nairobi High Court on holiday

Francophonie encouraged by political progress in Haiti
Ambassador of Haiti to Canada Hubert Arthurs held fruitful discussions with OIF Secretary General Louise Mushikiwabo during the OIF Economic Mission in Montreal and Quebec. Mushikiwabo said she was encouraged by the political progress in Haiti and reiterated OIF’s support for Haiti’s final resolution of the crisis. Ambassador Arthurs stressed that any support for Haiti needs to create jobs and economic opportunities, especially for young Haitians.
Weapons and ammunition seized, suspect arrested
Last week, investigators from the Northern Regional Office to Combat Drug Trafficking (BLTS) searched a container from the United States at Cap Terminal SA (CTSA) in Quartier-Morin, with registration number KOSU-496-108-8. They found and seized in two blue containers marked with number 44: 9 9mm caliber pistol magazines, a 9mm caliber drum magazine of the Taurus PT11G2G3 brand; a pistol-to-carbine conversion; 100 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition. Jean Guillaume JOSEPH was arrested as the recipient of these shipments.

In his book, the author reports 18 earthquakes, including the one that destroyed Santiago, the first city in the New World, in 1562, as well as earthquakes on October 18, 1751, November 21, 1751, and June 3, 1770, in which Port-au-Prince suffered major damage. The cause of the earthquakes was unknown at the time.
Response from the Minister for the Status of Women
At the inauguration ceremony, the Minister for the Status of Women and Women’s Rights, Ms. Marie-Françoise Suzanne, expressed her joy that this was the first time in the country’s entire history that the 30% quota for women in the Government had been almost reached (28.57%), with 4 out of 14 Ministers being women.
