Saint-Marc (Haiti), August 16, 2024 (AlterPresse) – Several national police officers and detainees were reported injured during an escape attempt at the Saint-Marc Civil Prison (Artibonite department) on Friday, August 16, 2024, according to information collected by the online agency AlterPresse.

As of noon on Friday, August 16, 2024, the number of injured national police officers and detainees was unknown, many of whom were taken to hospital for treatment for medical conditions.

However, an unknown number of detainees managed to escape from St. Mark’s Civil Prison.
