According to Radio Aclo de el Bor, a strong hailstorm affected agriculture and goat production in four communities of Camargo municipality, Nocinti department, Chuquisaca province, and eventually turned into a flood that destroyed everything in its path.
The incidents took place on Tuesday afternoon in the towns of Uturumbo, Nazareth, Santa Maria and Hornos. “The products we are losing now are grapes, pears, peaches and other vegetables,” said a local resident.
There have been no official reports of damage caused by this natural phenomenon, however, people have sought help from the municipal and departmental authorities.
“(The hail) took everything away. A strong hailstorm turned into a river and took my chickens away.” One woman felt a lump in her throat at what happened.
